Dear Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child back to St. Joan of Arc for another school yearFor those of you that are new to our school community, I would like to extend a special welcomeI hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing summerI have been anticipating working with you and your fourth graders throughout this challenging year.

The fourth grade requires your child to prepare for three major state tests- English Language Arts, Mathematics and ScienceThese dates will be announced during the year. In order to prepare for these tests, your child will engage in many challenging activities which will help to make this school year a success.

This year I will be teaching Math and Science to both fourth grade classes; Reading will be taught to a mix of children from both fourth grade classes and Religion to my homeroom classIt is most important that your child comes prepared each day and ready to workNotebooks should be organized and kept neatHomework is to be handed in on the due date givenPlease see the St. Joan of Arc School Handbook for the school wide homework policyEach student is required to have a homework assignment padPlease make yourself acquainted with this book; this will help to see that your child is completing all necessary assignments, as well as preparing for future tests and quizzes.

Below I have listed important information for you to know regarding the fourth grade curriculum in the following subjects:

It is my belief that we are working together as partners in the education of your childAs partners, we should both be fully aware of your child’s progress. Your child’s needs are most important to me and I plan to get to know each student individually, while creating a positive learning environmentDuring the school year, I will be sending work, assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests homeI ask that you sign all of your child’s work as an acknowledgement that you have seen itPlease feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss any concerns that you may have  Once you have written a letter, we can set up a time for us to meet togetherI look forward to meeting each of your throughout the school year.

Thank you,

Miss Napolitano
