Dear Families,

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child back to St. Joan of Arc for another school year. For those of you that are new to our school community, we would like to extend a special welcome. We hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. We have been anticipating working with you and your fourth graders throughout this challenging year.

The fourth grade requires your child to prepare for three major state tests- English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science. These dates will be announced during the year. In order to prepare for these tests, your child will engage in many challenging activities which will help to make this school year a success.

It is most important that your child comes prepared each day and ready to work. Notebooks should be organized and kept neat. Homework is to be handed in on the due date given. Please see the St. Joan of Arc School Handbook for the school wide homework policy. Each student is required to have a homework assignment pad. Please make yourself acquainted with this book; this will help to see that your child is completing all necessary assignments, as well as preparing for future tests and quizzes.

Below we have listed important information for you to know regarding the fourth grade curriculum in the following subjects: Reading Religion Science Math Test Prep

It is our belief that we are working together as partners in the education of your child. As partners, we should both be fully aware of your child’s progress. Your child’s needs are most important to us and we plan to get to know each student individually, while creating a positive learning environment. During the school year, we will be sending work, assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests home. We ask that you sign all of your child’s work as an acknowledgement that you have seen it. Please feel free to contact us at anytime to discuss any concerns that you may have. Once you have written a letter, we can set up a time for us to meet together. We look forward to meeting each of your throughout the school year.
