5th Grade Supply List

1. $20.00 for Weekly Reader for Science class and Time Magazine and Scholastic News for Social  Studies class.  Cash only please.
2. Pencils and sharpener  ( No mechanical pencils allowed )
3. Blue and/or black ink pens
4. Red ink pen
5. Ruler and Stapler
6. Seven Thick Marble-notebooks
7. One three subject marble notebook for Reading (No spiral notebooks allowed)
8. 3 Folders
9. One Blue and one Yellow highlighter
10. One box of crayons
11. One box of tissues
12. Roll of paper towels
13. Loose-leaf paper
14. Two reams (500 papers) of white  81/2 x 11 copy paper to be given to homeroom teacher
15. Canister of disposable wipes such as Wet Ones, etc
16. Cloth or heavy duty plastic travel bag with handles
17. Book bag with NO WHEELS for safety concerns on the stairs.

We, the 5th grade teachers, have found it less cumbersome and time consuming for the children when they do not bring their book bags with them while they are changing classes in the hall. Children can then put the books they will need when they change classes in these bags and reduce the chances of them falling or getting lost.   This bag does not take the place of a book bag. Children will still need a book bag to carry their books to and from school.
