WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT ST. JOAN OF ARC

  • As a component of our Catholic Identity Self Assessment during the 2010-2011 school year, parents were asked to comment on the school.  We wish to share with you the many responses we received.
  • My child has learned about the Catholic faith and talks about it at home, which in return, we are learning too!
  • My daughter is proud to be in a Catholic environment.  At home she is in a non-Catholic environment and has taught us so much about Catholicism.  We are proud that my daughter is following a faith that is deeply rooted in Jesus Christ and is inside of the teachers’ hearts.

STUDENT REFLECTIONS ABOUT HOW BEING IN ST. JOAN OF ARC  SCHOOL
HELPS THEM COME CLOSER TO GOD

  • One of the lessons in Middle School Religion Class is
that God made us in God’s own image.
Students hear IMAGO DEI repeatedly so that they learn to treat others with dignity,
recognizing the presence of God in their classmates, families, and people who come into their lives.
Middle School students were asked to reflect on some images of God,
who makes God real for them, and to comment on their relationship with God.
These are just a few of those responses that students were willing to share.
  • Since Pre-K through fifth grade I attended public school.  At this school I learned all the subjects except one- religion.  Even though my family and I go to mass every Saturday night or Sunday morning, it wasn’t until fourth grade that my parents sent me to Religious Education classes at St. Joan of Arc Church in order to get ready for my First Communion.  I went to classes every Sunday for two years.  There I learned many prayers and I got to know more about God.  In May 2010 I received my First Communion.  Msgr. Garcia celebrated the mass on that special day.  In September 2010 I entered St. Joan of Arc Catholic School where religion is one of the most important subjects because we learn about God and about Jesus’ life and teachings every day.  I am very happy today not only because I have made new friends and I have great teachers, but also because I feel really close to God now more than ever.
